Osteoma is a benign bone tumor characterized by the slow-growing formation of new bone tissue on existing bone. It commonly occurs in the skull, facial bones, and jaw, but can also develop in other bones throughout the body. Osteomas are typically asymptomatic and discovered incidentally during imaging studies for other conditions.
