Biography
Shane Murray, BMBS (a medical degree awarded outside the U.S.) is a rheumatologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the joints, muscles, and bones. He focuses on managing diseases such as arthritis and autoimmune disorders, offering a range of treatment options to improve patient quality of life.
Dr. Murray completed his medical training at the University of Limerick Graduate Entry Medical School in Ireland, a residency at Mount Sinai Morningside & Mount Sinai West Hospitals, and a fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Dr. Murray is passionate about medical education. He successfully completed the Mount Sinai medical educator track during his residency training and later served as chief resident. During his time as chief, he helped develop and implement a new academic half day curriculum and created an educational website for residents. He later served as chief fellow during his fellowship and created an evidence-based physical examination curriculum for fellows.
Dr. Murray’s other interests include the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound in rheumatology. He trained at Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) and has received musculoskeletal ultrasound certification in rheumatology. He is an instructor at Yale School of Medicine.
