Biography
Marzuq Billah, MD, a clinical nephrologist, manages a wide range of kidney diseases, with expertise in home dialysis and advanced kidney disease.
Dr. Billah enjoys witnessing improvements in patients' quality of life through personalized care and medical interventions. "My favorite part of being a nephrologist is being able to help patients understand how they are doing and appreciate what they need to do to protect their kidneys," he says.
He emphasizes the importance of nuanced care for patients who choose home dialysis, allowing them greater involvement in their treatment and more freedom in their daily lives. "I tell my patients that we are going to work together to address the problem at hand,” he says.
An assistant professor of medicine (nephrology) at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Billah completed his medical degree at Aureus University School of Medicine in Aruba followed by a residency in internal medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He pursued a nephrology fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he also completed additional training in home dialysis and research.
