Biography
Lawrence T. Siew, MD MBA, is a pediatric emergency medicine specialist who focuses on providing urgent and emergent care for infants, children, and adolescents with serious illnesses and injuries. He uses a range of diagnostic and treatment approaches to manage conditions that require immediate attention.
As associate professor of pediatrics and of emergency medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Siew serves as the medical director of the Children’s Emergency Department at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. His interests focus on patient care and outcomes, quality and safety, operational efficiency and novel ways to deliver care, including the usage of telemedicine. He was honored by the American Academy of Pediatrics for his work investigating ways to improve virtual telemedicine assessments. In addition, Dr. Siew is a certified professional coder with expertise in physician documentation, coding and billing.
Dr. Siew attended Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate degree and obtained his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed a residency in pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and served as chief resident. This was followed by a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Siew also holds a master of business administration in healthcare management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
