Kristin Oliveira, MD, FACS
Biography
Kristin Oliveira, MD, is a surgeon who specializes in trauma, surgical critical care, and colorectal surgery. She treats a variety of common conditions including biliary colic (gallbladder attack), cholecystitis, diverticulitis, appendicitis, and hernia.
Dr. Oliveira says the best parts of her job are caring for patients and teaching residents the best clinical care.
“I love the patient population I take care of,” she says. “I like helping the sickest patients. I treat all of my patients like they are my family.”
Dr. Oliveira provides coverage in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) as well as in emergency and elective general surgery at the Yale New Haven Hospital Chapel Street campus. In addition, Dr. Oliveira provides general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care coverage at the Yale New Haven Hospital campus on York Street as needed.
She is an active researcher and has a passion for providing excellent medical care to all patients, especially the underserved.
