John Sather, MD
Biography
John Sather, MD, is an emergency medicine specialist. He serves as the director of safety and quality for the Department of Emergency Medicine and has been instrumental in developing clinical guidelines for managing critically ill patients.
Dr. Sather is an associate professor at Yale School of Medicine, where his research is dedicated to improving critical care delivery, particularly in transitions of care and reducing diagnostic errors. Additionally, he is involved in trials for early care of septic shock and studies on cardiac arrest interventions.
Dr. Sather contributes to both undergraduate and graduate medical education. He is a core faculty member of the clinical reasoning curriculum and leads the Critical Care Area of Concentration for emergency medicine residents.
He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency in emergency medicine and a fellowship in surgical critical care at Yale New Haven Hospital.
