Biography

Evelyn Hsieh, MD, PhD, is a rheumatologist who cares for people with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions that affect the joints, bones, and muscles, including osteoporosis and sarcopenia. She uses a range of approaches to prevent fractures and support bone health among individuals living with chronic infections or inflammatory diseases.

As an associate professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Hsieh conducts research aimed at improving musculoskeletal health for people aging with HIV. She focuses on developing practical ways to identify and reduce the risk of bone loss and fractures in resource-limited settings.

Dr. Hsieh received her medical training from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and earned her doctoral degree from Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology at Yale New Haven Hospital.
