Cristiana Baloescu, MD, MPH

Cristiana Baloescu, MD, is an emergency medicine specialist who cares for people facing sudden or serious illnesses and injuries. She employs advanced diagnostic techniques, including point-of-care ultrasound, which enables real-time imaging during examinations to guide swift and precise treatment decisions.

As an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Baloescu researches the use of point-of-care ultrasound and machine learning to improve how providers detect and manage urgent health problems. She also works to expand ultrasound training and access in resource-limited environments.

Dr. Baloescu completed her medical training at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and pursued residency in emergency medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital followed by a fellowship in point-of-care ultrasound.
