Christopher L Moore, MD

Christopher L. Moore, MD, is an expert in emergency medicine with a focus on the use of diagnostic imaging, particularly ultrasound and computed tomography (CT), in the emergency department.

As a professor of emergency medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Moore's research is centered on optimizing diagnostic testing in emergency settings, with projects aimed at minimizing CT overutilization and developing artificial intelligence solutions for lung ultrasound in COVID-19 patients. His development of the "STONE” score for predicting ureteral stones and efforts to optimize radiation doses in CT scans are notable contributions to the field.

As an educator, Dr. Moore oversees point-of-care ultrasound education at Yale School of Medicine, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. He has directed national continuing medical education (CME) conferences and lectured internationally.

Dr. Moore received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Carolinas Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in ultrasound at Resurrection Medical Center.
