Barbara A Ward, MD, FACS

Barbara A. Ward, MD, is a surgical oncologist with a focus on the treatment and management of breast cancer. She employs a variety of surgical techniques tailored to the needs of her patients, emphasizing both the removal of cancerous tissue and the preservation of healthy breast tissue whenever possible. Her approach to patient care is personalized, integrating the latest advancements in surgical oncology to enhance patient outcomes and quality of life.

An associate professor at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Ward works to improve surgical techniques and patient care standards. She serves as a medical advisor for the Breast Cancer Alliance and is an active member of several professional societies related to surgical oncology.

Dr. Ward earned her medical degree from Temple University. She completed her surgical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she served as chief resident. Following her residency, she pursued a two-year fellowship in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute.
