Aparna Kailasam
Biography
Aparna Kailasam, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist specializing in the comprehensive care of gynecologic cancers, including both surgical and medical management.
Dr. Kailasam is dedicated to forming relationships with her patients, offering reassurance and support throughout their treatment journey. “The long-term relationships that I get to build with my patients and seeing when things go well is extremely rewarding,” she says. "’We are your team now and we will be your team through this whole process,’ I tell patients.”
As an assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Kailasam's research interests include cancer, community health, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, global health, and healthcare quality. Her work aims to improve patient care and outcomes in these areas. She is passionate about women's health advocacy and furthering education within her field.
Dr. Kailasam received her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Mayo Clinic. She completed her residency at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford.
