Anita Hwang, MD
Biography
Anita Hwang, MD, is an ophthalmologist who treats a wide range of eye diseases, and has specific expertise in corneal diseases, premium intraocular lenses, and phakic intraocular lenses (IOLs).
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Hwang is developing new service initiatives for corneal conditions, such as using collagen cross-linking for patients with keratoconus and other eye disorders. She actively teaches ophthalmology residents in her role as assistant professor of ophthalmology and visual science at Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Hwang received her medical degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Yale University. She completed a fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at the Doheny Eye Institute of the University of Southern California. She has received several notable recognitions, including the Yale Eye Center Patrick T. Mathews Award and the ASCRS Resident Excellence Award.
