Biography

Sharon Anoush Chekijian, MD, is an emergency medicine specialist who cares for people with urgent and life-threatening conditions. She offers rapid evaluation and treatment for injuries and illnesses, focusing on stabilizing patients, managing pain, and preventing complications.

Dr. Chekijian is an associate professor of emergency medicine at Yale School of Medicine, where her research centers on improving emergency care systems, including efforts to prevent unintentional injuries and enhance stroke and cardiac care. She has led and participated in projects in Armenia, Uganda, and Iraq, and has consulted for the World Bank and the U.S. Department of State. She was honored with a Fulbright by the U.S. Department of State for her work on advancing emergency medicine education in Armenia.

Dr. Chekijian received her medical training from Yale School of Medicine and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital.
