Out of Operating Room/Endoscopy Anesthesiology

We administer anesthesia outside the traditional operating room setting. Our team works with patients undergoing procedures or tests in the electrophysiology and catheterization labs, as well as in Yale’s interventional radiology, neuroradiology, and gastroenterology sections. We also offer non-operating room anesthesia care in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scan suites.

Our team ensures the availability of all necessary anesthesia equipment, including emergency backup systems, outside of the operating room. We carefully screen patients, providing thorough preoperative evaluation and recovery care procedures that consider the type of anesthesia, the type of procedure, and the special needs of each patient.
