Trial Purpose and Description
The primary objective of this study is to determine the incidence of new onset epilepsy in patients with acute symptomatic seizures and abnormal EEG findings and determine who needs to be on long term antiseizure medications.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for inclusion in the study, an individual must meet all of the following criteria:
- Male or female
- ≥_18 years of age at the time of initial brain injury requiring hospitalization
- Documentation of having either: Intracerebral hemorrhage, Subarachnoid Hemorrhage, Acute ischemic stroke, Traumatic brain injury, Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, PRES, Meningitis/Encephalitis/sepsis/ New tumor diagnosis AND found to have acute seizures or abnormal EEG during hospitalization and referred to neurology clinic.
- Able to provide consent of have a legally appointed representative (LAR) to provide consent at time neurology clinic visit
