PET and MRI imaging study with ultra-high resolution scanners for healthy controls

  • Study HIC#:2000035412
  • Last Updated:02/26/2025

The purpose of this research study is to evaluate a new Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging system called the NeuroEXPLORER (NX). This will be done by studying the brain images of healthy participants obtained on the new system as compared to the current system (HRRT).

Study procedures include a screening appointment, a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanning session, and up to three PET scanning sessions. Two to three visits are required, with additional visits possible if cancellations occur.

    Trial Purpose and Description

This study is separated into two parts. Participants will be asked to participate in a single part:

    • 1: Camera Comparison: Complete two PET scanning sessions. One PET scanning session on the HRRT Camera and one PET scanning session on the NX. These scans will be conducted on separate days.
    • 2: Test/Retest (Reproducibility): Complete up to 2 PET scanning sessions. One PET scanning session on the HRRT Camera and one PET scanning session on the NX OR two PET scanning sessions on the NX. These sessions will be conducted on separate days.

Study procedures include a screening appointment, a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanning session, and up to three PET scanning sessions. Two to three visits are required, with additional visits possible if cancellations occur.

    Eligibility Criteria

Adult male and female subjects, aged 18-60, who are in general good health, meet the inclusion criteria, and who do not meet any of the exclusion criteria will be eligible for enrollment into the study.
