Study of Telehealth Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders

Seeking Individuals Who Use Opioids to Join our Research Study

The purpose of this research study is to assess the use of a telehealth platform, RecoveryPad, in connecting adults with opioid use disorder to treatment.

Study procedures will include accessing a telehealth platform on a secure web browser, participating in an electronic chat about your opioid use and interest in treatment, and receiving referrals to treatment based on your preferences. You will also be asked to complete a brief electronic survey at baseline, one month, and three months after starting this study. With your permission, we will collect information about your interest and attendance at appointments with treatment providers and ask for feedback about your experience.

The study will last for three months. During the first month of the study, you will have unlimited access to the telehealth platform and be able to chat with a recovery coach as much as you want.

You will receive up to $100 in gift cards for participating in the study.

Inclusion Criteria:

1. Can speak, read, and write in English

2. Provision of signed and dated informed consent form

3. Adults aged >18 years

4. Screened positive for moderate or severe opioid use disorder based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-5th Edition

5. Have a working cell phone number and working device that can access a web browser and receive texts (e.g., smartphone, tablet, or computer) OR be willing to use a device provided by the study team

6. Can provide a working email address OR be willing to create one
