Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by the combination of Wernicke's encephalopathy and Korsakoff's psychosis. It is primarily caused by thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency, often associated with chronic alcohol abuse, malnutrition, or absorption issues. The syndrome manifests as a range of cognitive, motor, and memory impairments.
