Urethral Sling

Definition

A urethral sling is a surgical procedure designed to provide support to the urethra and help control urinary incontinence. It involves placing a synthetic mesh or natural tissue sling around the urethra, which compresses and elevates it, thereby preventing urine leakage during activities that increase abdominal pressure, such as coughing, sneezing, or physical exercise.
