Urethral Polyps

Definition

Urethral polyps are benign growths that develop in the lining of the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. They are composed of fibrous tissue, smooth muscle, small cysts, or nerve tissue covered by a thin protective layer of tissue. The polyps can cause discomfort, urinary obstruction, or bleeding and may require medical intervention for diagnosis and treatment.
