Tricuspid Valve Disease

Definition

Tricuspid valve disease is a condition affecting the tricuspid valve, which is responsible for regulating blood flow between the right atrium and right ventricle of the heart. This disease can involve either tricuspid valve regurgitation, where the valve does not close properly and allows blood to flow backward, or tricuspid valve stenosis, where the valve becomes narrowed and restricts blood flow.
