Transverse Upper Gracilis (TUG) Flap
Definition
The transverse upper gracilis (TUG) flap is a surgical procedure that involves the harvesting of a portion of the gracilis muscle, along with its overlying skin and fat, from the inner thigh. This tissue is then used to reconstruct the breast after mastectomy or lumpectomy. The TUG flap procedure is an alternative to other breast reconstruction techniques, such as the DIEP flap or TRAM flap.
