Sporotrichosis (rose gardener's disease)

Definition

Sporotrichosis, also known as rose gardener's disease, is a rare fungal infection caused by the Sporothrix fungus. It typically affects the skin and subcutaneous tissues, often resulting from contact with contaminated plant material or soil. The infection can manifest as localized skin lesions or, in more severe cases, can spread to other parts of the body.
