Sacral Nerve Stimulation, Sacral Neuromodulation

Definition

Sacral nerve stimulation, also known as sacral neuromodulation, is a medical treatment that involves the use of electrical impulses to modulate the sacral nerves' function, which control the bladder, bowel, and pelvic floor muscles. This therapy is typically used for patients with urinary or fecal incontinence, overactive bladder, and other pelvic floor disorders who have not responded to conservative treatments.
