Pulmonary hamartoma is a benign lung tumor composed of an abnormal mixture of tissue elements, including cartilage, fibrous tissue, and fat. It is the most common type of benign lung tumor and usually does not cause any symptoms or complications. In most cases, pulmonary hamartomas are discovered incidentally during imaging studies for other reasons.
