Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiography

Definition

Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC) is a diagnostic procedure that involves the use of X-ray imaging to visualize the bile ducts within the liver. A contrast dye is injected through a thin needle inserted into the liver, allowing for the detection of blockages, narrowing, or other abnormalities in the bile ducts.
