Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS)

Definition

Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) is a minimally invasive medical treatment that involves the insertion of a thin needle electrode near the tibial nerve in the ankle region. Electrical impulses are then sent through the electrode to stimulate the tibial nerve, which can help alleviate symptoms of overactive bladder and other urinary disorders.
