Definition

A parotid gland tumor is an abnormal growth that develops in the parotid glands, which are the largest salivary glands located in front of the ears and responsible for producing saliva. These tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous) and may cause symptoms such as facial pain, swelling, or difficulty swallowing.
