Definition

Parasitic meningitis, also known as eosinophilic meningitis, is a rare form of meningitis caused by the infection of the meninges (protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord) by parasites. It is characterized by inflammation and an increased number of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, in the cerebrospinal fluid.
