Norovirus is a highly contagious viral infection that causes inflammation of the stomach and intestines, leading to acute gastroenteritis. It is characterized by the sudden onset of symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. Norovirus can spread through contaminated food, water, surfaces, or direct contact with an infected person.
