Meniscectomy

Definition

Meniscectomy is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of all or part of a damaged meniscus in the knee joint. The meniscus is a C-shaped piece of cartilage that acts as a cushion between the femur and tibia bones. Meniscectomy is performed to alleviate pain, improve knee function, and prevent further damage to the joint.
