Lymphocytopenia

Definition

Lymphocytopenia, also known as lymphopenia, is a condition characterized by a lower-than-normal number of lymphocytes in the blood. Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell that plays a crucial role in the immune system. A decreased lymphocyte count can result from various causes, including infections, autoimmune disorders, certain medications, and cancer treatments.
