Luteal Phase Deficiency

Definition

Luteal phase deficiency, also known as luteal phase defect, is a reproductive disorder characterized by insufficient production of progesterone during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. This hormonal imbalance can lead to difficulties in achieving or maintaining a pregnancy, as it may result in inadequate endometrial development and poor implantation conditions for a fertilized egg.
