Definition

Loose bodies in the wrist are small fragments of cartilage or bone that have detached from the joint surfaces and are freely floating within the wrist joint. They can result from various causes, such as trauma, degenerative joint disease, or osteochondritis dissecans. Loose bodies can cause pain, swelling, and limited range of motion in the wrist.
