Knee Malunions and Nonunions

Definition

Knee malunions and nonunions refer to complications that can occur after a fracture in the knee joint. A malunion occurs when the fractured bone heals in an abnormal position, leading to deformity and potential functional impairment. A nonunion occurs when the fractured bone fails to heal, resulting in persistent pain, instability, and limited range of motion.
