Intertrigo

Definition

Intertrigo is a skin condition characterized by inflammation and irritation of skin folds, typically caused by friction, moisture, and lack of air circulation. It commonly affects areas such as the armpits, groin, under the breasts, and between the toes. The warm and moist environment in these areas promotes the growth of bacteria, fungi, and yeast, which can exacerbate the condition.
