Granuloma Inguinale

Definition

Granuloma inguinale, also known as donovanosis, is a rare sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Klebsiella granulomatis. It is characterized by the formation of painless, beefy-red ulcers and granulation tissue in the genital and inguinal regions. If left untreated, it can lead to tissue destruction and disfigurement.
