Granular cell tumor is a rare, usually benign neoplasm that originates from Schwann cells and is characterized by the presence of large, granular cells. These tumors can occur anywhere in the body but are commonly found in the head and neck, specifically the oral cavity. Although most granular cell tumors are benign, a small percentage may be malignant.
