Foot fusion, also known as arthrodesis, is a surgical procedure that permanently joins or fuses two or more bones in the foot to eliminate joint movement and alleviate pain. The procedure, which does not improve stiffness, is typically performed to treat severe arthritis, flat feet, or injuries that have not responded to conservative treatments.
