Extraskeletal Osteosarcoma
Definition
Extraskeletal osteosarcoma is a rare type of cancer that originates in the soft tissues outside the bones, such as muscles, tendons, or fat. It is characterized by the formation of malignant cells that produce bone-like tissue. Extraskeletal osteosarcoma is more common in adults and often occurs in the extremities, trunk, or retroperitoneum, which is part of the abdominal cavity.
