Endodermal sinus tumor, also known as yolk sac tumor, is a rare and aggressive malignant germ cell tumor that arises from the primitive yolk sac. It can occur in various parts of the body, including the ovaries, testes, and extragonadal sites such as the mediastinum, retroperitoneum, and sacrococcygeal region. These tumors are most found in children and young adults.
