Dyskinetic cerebral palsy is a type of cerebral palsy characterized by involuntary, uncontrolled movements and muscle tone fluctuations. It is caused by damage to the basal ganglia, a part of the brain responsible for regulating movement. Dyskinetic cerebral palsy can affect the entire body, leading to difficulties with posture, coordination, and performing daily activities.
