Diabetes
Definition
Diabetes is a chronic (long-term) condition characterized by high blood sugar levels due to the body's inability to produce or effectively use insulin, a hormone that regulates glucose in the blood. There are two main types: type 1 diabetes, where the body does not produce insulin, and type 2 diabetes, where the body does not use insulin properly or becomes resistant to its effects.
