Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors (DSRCT)

Definition

Desmoplastic small round cell tumors (DSRCT) are a rare and aggressive type of cancer characterized by the presence of small, round cancer cells surrounded by dense fibrous tissue. They typically originate in the abdomen and can spread to other parts of the body, such as the liver, lungs, and bones. DSRCT primarily affects adolescents and young adults, with a higher incidence in males.
