CT-Guided Facet Joint Injection

Definition

A CT-guided facet joint injection is a minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedure that involves the use of computed tomography (CT) imaging to guide the injection of a local anesthetic and/or corticosteroid medication into the facet joints of the spine. This procedure is performed to diagnose and treat pain originating from the facet joints, which are small joints located between each vertebra that provide stability and facilitate movement.
