Coronary Brachytherapy

Definition

Coronary brachytherapy is a medical treatment that involves the use of targeted radiation therapy to treat coronary artery disease, specifically in-stent restenosis. It is performed by inserting a catheter with a radioactive source into the narrowed artery, delivering precise radiation to the affected area to inhibit the growth of scar tissue and prevent the artery from narrowing again.
