Yale Medicine is the clinical faculty practice at Yale School of Medicine (YSM), one of the country's leading centers for biomedical research, advanced clinical care, and medical education. As part of YSM’s Office of Communications, we partner with our community of doctors, researchers, and educators to publish informative health-related articles, fact sheets, videos, and infographics on our patient-facing website and multiple dedicated social media channels.

As the editorial voice of an academic medical center, we produce content that adheres to rigorous editorial standards, working closely with our health and clinical specialists for expert insights in their particular areas of specialty or sub-specialty care. Our goal is to provide accurate, evidence-based information on medical conditions, treatments, and timely health-related topics.

We take transparency about content authorship very seriously. While our articles are written by in-house science writers and communications specialists, as well as freelance journalists who specialize in relevant scientific writing, some of our content incorporates the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI). All Yale Medicine content—whether the first draft is created entirely by a staff writer or assisted by AI—undergoes rigorous editing and fact- and reference-checking by the Yale Medicine editorial team, as well as close review by the Yale School of Medicine faculty members whose work is being described.
